West Africa Training Center

Samaritan Strategy West Africa is preparing to build a regional training center in Ghana that will equip pastors, church leaders, NGO coordinators and community leaders for biblical worldview, wholistic ministry and practical community transformation.

The West Africa Training Center is more than a building project. It is a long-term investment in leaders who can help churches move beyond spiritual activity alone and engage the physical, social, intellectual and spiritual needs of their communities. The goal is to train leaders who understand that biblical truth must shape every area of life.

Across West Africa, the Church has grown significantly. Many communities have large churches, faithful worship gatherings and deep spiritual commitment. Yet poverty, disease, corruption, conflict, dependency and environmental degradation still remain. Samaritan Strategy West Africa believes the Church has a critical role to play in addressing these issues through renewed minds, responsible leadership and practical acts of service.

Why the Training Center Is Needed

For years, international aid and development agencies have worked to address poverty, disease, corruption and conflict across Africa. Some efforts have helped, but many have produced limited long-term transformation. Samaritan Strategy West Africa recognizes that the deeper issue is not only material need. It is worldview, leadership, responsibility, stewardship and hope.

In many places, a fatalistic mindset still influences how people view life, poverty and progress. When people believe they are victims of nature, fate, other people or the spirit realm, they often lose motivation to work toward a better future. Biblical worldview training directly confronts that mindset by teaching that people are created in the image of God, entrusted with responsibility and called to serve their neighbors.

The Training Center will create a dedicated place where leaders can be equipped to teach these principles, apply them in their churches and carry them into their communities.

A Regional Hub for West Africa

Samaritan Strategy West Africa currently works through twelve country representatives or coordinators across the region. The ministry also has twenty-three volunteer staff members who help support training programs. Eighteen are based in Ghana, while five regional trainers are based in Senegal, Togo, Guinea, Mali and Ivory Coast.

The new Training Center will serve both Ghana and the broader West African sub-region. It will host conferences, training sessions and leadership gatherings for pastors, church leaders, NGO coordinators and other organizational leaders. It will also provide a permanent regional base for Samaritan Strategy’s continued work in biblical worldview, transformation and wholistic ministry.

Why Ghana?

Ghana has been selected because of its central location within West Africa. It is also one of the most stable, democratic and peaceful countries along the West African coast. Travel by air and road is comparatively easier and more accessible, making Ghana a strong location for a regional training hub.

From this location, Samaritan Strategy West Africa can serve leaders from Ghana and neighboring countries more effectively, while strengthening the movement of wholistic transformation across the region.

Training Focus

The Training Center will help pastors and local church leaders equip their members with theology, strategy and practical experience for ministry to the whole person. The training will address spiritual, physical, social and intellectual needs, helping churches become more active agents of transformation in their communities.

Leaders will be trained to teach Kingdom principles and biblical methods for personal and community development. They will also be encouraged to use local resources for wholistic ministry, especially in materially poor churches and fellowships where outside aid is limited or unavailable.

The Facility Vision

The proposed West Africa Training Center is designed to support both training and hospitality. The full facility vision includes guest rooms, conference space, worship space and meal service so that leaders can gather, learn and stay on-site during training programs.

A Strategic First Step

The total projected cost for the West Africa Training Center is $419,000. However, Samaritan Strategy West Africa can begin construction with seed capital of $160,000. This first phase is important because initial construction will allow the ministry to begin using the facility and generate proceeds from programs that can help cover future construction costs.

This makes the project both urgent and practical. The full need is significant, but the first step is clear. Seed capital allows the work to begin, creates visible momentum and helps position the ministry to continue building toward the full facility vision.

The Long-Term Impact

The West Africa Training Center will help Samaritan Strategy West Africa train leaders from different Christian backgrounds to think with a Kingdom mind, build Kingdom churches, make Kingdom disciples and practice God’s will in visible, practical ways.

The Center will strengthen the Church’s ability to serve communities through biblical worldview, transformation and wholistic ministry. It will give leaders a place to be trained, renewed, challenged and equipped to return home with practical tools for service.
